Emmy Rossum made an official announcement that she had secretly gotten married to Justine Siegel, her music producer boyfriend, in February 2008. And while they knew how to keep their marriage a secret, her divorce was now on the public record. The two could no longer keep their relationship status confidential when Justin Siegel filed for divorce in September 2009. The star of The Phantom of the Opera had been back on the market after the divorce was recorded in Los Angeles Superior Court and finalized her settlement with Justin Siegel for a meager $57,000. According to the divorce judgment that was procured by E! News, Emmy Rossum would keep the house they had in Beverly Hills, her jewelry, and other personal paraphernalia. As for Justine Siegel, he would be able to keep the security deposit of $11,000 on a residence in Coldwater Canyon. Justin would also have the Mercedes, some clothing, jewelry, and the furniture that was already in his possession. Justin Siegel lost the bid for spousal support, but the good news remained that he did not have to pay the actress any, either. Emmy Rossum decided just to hand over $57,000 to make things even and finally put everything behind. After the two of them met a year ago, Emmy and Justin secretly swapped their vows on February 17, 2008. However, the two of them spent the next year and six months faking that they were just boyfriend-girlfriend. For their divorce, they cited that it was due to irreconcilable differences. It was speculated that those irreconcilable differences might have something to do with Emmy Rossum’s romance with Adam Duritz. He was the frontman of Counting Crows and was a man who was twice her age. People.com reported that Adam and Emmy were seen in a New York City restaurant and that according to their unnamed source, the two were “sitting side by side, kissing throughout dinner.” In one issue of InStyle Hair, Emmy Rossum said, “Everyone messes up in relationships and has peaks and valleys in their personal lives. When I realized it wasn’t the end of the world, and I would keep on standing, I knew it was going to be okay.”
