He signed a record-setting $141 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets after a brief tenure with the Boston Celtics. Irving made his claimed $90 million wealth in a variety of ways other than basketball. After much conjecture, Irving acknowledged his relationship with Golden, a.k.a. Marlene Wilkerson, in the summer of 2019. After the Instagram influencer was spotted wearing a gorgeous piece of jewelry on her ring finger, rumors that the couple was about to marry began to swirl. Irving was previously engaged to R&B singer Kehlani, but the two broke up in 2016.
