Lauren Cheney — Jrue Holiday
Cheney was a top athlete during college. She starred at U.C.L.A.’s soccer team. Lauren and Jrue met since both of them are student-athletes at U.C.L.A. Both Cheney and Holiday represented the United States in two World Cups and two Olympic Games. Lauren’s achievements include being the first player in the history of the National Women’s Soccer League to have her jersey retired. At U.C.L.A., she set multiple school records such as most points, scored most game-winning goals, and tied for most school goals. Unfortunately, Cheney was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2016 while she was pregnant with her daughter. She needed to have her tumor removed, and so in 2016, after giving birth, Holiday had to miss most of the season to be with his wife. Thankfully, the cancer was removed successfully.
