This songwriter has written and recorded a number of hits back in the ‘60s. The list includes “Cry Like a Baby,” “Do Right Woman,” and “The Dark End of the Street.” He worked with the likes of Chips Moman, Spooner Oldham, and The Box Tops back then. He did not like showmanship as much as songwriting and avoided the cameras. He and Chips Moman had a good work relationship and produced a lot of hits. Sadly, they fell out in the end.
