Robert Johnson – $500,000 (estate)
This musician was born in Mississippi in 1911. He was a blues pioneer, but his life was not documented very well. Despite this, his legacy lives on in the form of his music. He participated in several recording sessions and only made 29 songs. Sadly, he did not live long enough to see them do well. Don Law released them as singles after his death. Other musical artists borrowed his lyrics and guitar style to great success. Mind you, Bob Dylan and Keith Richards have acknowledged his influence on their music!
